Located near Universal, dining, and the train
No complaints about this hotel or my stay. Our room was on the smaller side but can't complain for the price and location of this hotel. Also, there was a convention in the hotel during our stay so it was pretty packed and the elevators were always full, but we weren't in any rush going anywhere so it was ok. Oh, a perk to staying in this hotel is that you can buy tickets for Universal the day before instead of having to get it at the park the morning of.

Great value for Universal Studios Visit!
This is a very nice hotel for visiting Universal Studios Osaka. My husband and I stayed for three nights with our 2-year-old daughter. Our "triple" room included a double bed that seemed more like a queen and two twin beds. The beds were very close together. If you have mobility issue, take a look at the photos before making your room choice. We paid a little extra for daily breakfast. The breakfast included American "continental" breakfast items, like bread and pastries. It also had chicken nuggets, a chocolate fountain, and a bit of fruit. Other than that, it was very Japanese! A cool experience if you enjoy fish, rice, and takoyaki (fried balls of ground octopus). My husband would just have soon gone across the walkway to a coffee shop each day. Definitely a question of personal choice. For Westerners not accustomed to Japanese breakfast, it may be better to pay-as-you go for breakfast so you can switch to a more conventional option. Overall, a great hotel at a great price in a cool location! It is, however, best for a very specific type of travel--a visit to Universal. (One more note: Universal Studios will not let you leave and return on the same day unless you buy an entire separate ticket. Our original plan was to bring our daughter back to the hotel to nap. We ended up not being able to do that. However, they rented strollers that recline all the way for 1000 yen, so she was able to get a good nap while we walked around the park.)

Overall good, but some temperature woes.
Basically, it was a good stay, but there were two major problems: 1) The temperature in the room was not really adjustable like it is in most Japanese hotels. There was an "air conditioning" knob, but it did nothing. When we asked about it, they said that the hotel was being centrally controlled for everyone's comfort... which made it way too hot for us. We ended up getting by by opening the windows the crack that was possible, and not using sheets or blankets... in the winter. 2) The room only has one key, which you have to turn in before you leave for the day. I've never heard of this before, so it was a little strange to us. Otherwise though, it was great. The staff were helpful (and knew some English, although we didn't need it). If you're interested in Universal Studios, it's right by it, and a train ride with a transfer away from Osaka, Namba, etc.. Price was good, the in hotel buffet was reasonable... if temperature isn't a concern for you, it's good.

Was out of the way, but a nice stay anyway.
First let me say that the hotel was wonderful. We needed a hotel for 4 nights and this was the only hotel that had a room that was close to a JR rail station. So it was out of the way, it was a great hotel. The place was clean, service was great, and lots to do in the area. Universal studio is close and the walkway has tons of shops and eateries. The rooms are themed for kids, not so mush for adults, but that was ok. They even had laundry service that was free, wash and dry self serve. Bonus! Great stay.
