All vehicles are required to carry chains in their vehicle during the winter season (November-May). Highway 180 is the only reliable means of entrance to the property during the snow season. On the day of arrival, please contact the property using the contact details on the booking confirmation.
Road Access and Auto Escort Service: During or after a snow storm, the Generals Highway to Montecito is only plowed to the "Y" area of the road (2 miles past the Kings Canyon National Park entrance) and guests cannot drive to Montecito past this point. What a great place!
We loved the stay! My boyfriend and I felt surprised that the activities were adult-friendly as well. The hotel staff members were very nice and did their best to answer all of our questions.

Make sure you know what you are getting
The description of this place was not quite I got. It was a cabin with a wood burning stove and a shared bath house. Neither of these things would be a problem as we tent camp frequently but you need to be prepared. On the positive side meals were included and were served buffet style. Food was good for a buffet. A bit pricey for how we used it. Just a quick over night stay.

The place was old and needs some renovation, but was clean and well maintained. The food and service was great. I will highly recommend this to all.

We stayed in a cabin with a group of 4 friends and we had an absolutely great time!! The lodge has free breakfast & dinner (both great) and you can get a lunch bag if you notify them in advance. The common area is very cosy, so are the cabins. The only problem is that the cabins can only be heated by a fireplace which meant it was really hot when we went to bed and got really cold during the night. The bathroom was shared, and it could have been in better shape. The area is beautiful and it's only a short drive to plenty of hikes as well as the highlights of Sequoia. Despite the few negatives, we would definitely come again and recommend the lodge to others!
