    Great stay
Lovely hotel. Located in a hilly location so be sure to take advantage of the 100 yen shuttle. It’s a short, but steep uphill walk to the closest local bus stop or a long downhill trek to town. The hotel room was immaculate and the toiletries provided were top quality. We splurged and had kaiseki dinner in our rooms and would highly recommend it. The food was amazing and beautifully presented. The ladies onsen was large and clean. During peak hours, it can be quite busy. I do wish that a refrigerator for private use was available in room. There is a fridge in room, but it is a mini bar with no room to store your own water bottles/food except in the freezer compartment. It also automatically locks, so if you do store anything in there, be sure to take it out at least an hour before checkout.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but...
When I planned and booked this hotel, I wanted a kaiseki dinner ( a traditional japanese dinner prepared to be eaten inside the hotel room instead of a common area). It was listed that I would get breakfast and dinner so I thought that we would get a kaiseki dinner. When we got there, the meals turned out to be buffets, and they refuse to let us have kaiseki dinner even when we told them we don't mind if there was an up charge ( we wanted the experience ). No one there spoke a lick of english so all they did was looked at each other, and this, upsets me. The hotel itself is great. Clean, not old and the environment is good. We got a tatami room and that was beautiful and amazing, I just wish there was some type of AC because it was SO HOT specially during summer. We get a free onsen pass that you have to walk 2 minutes to, and the onsen was BEAUTIFUL, very clean and modern looking. It wasn't crowded when we went. When we ate the buffet dinner and breakfast, the food did not disappoint me. The food was really delicious and due to this I wasn't too upset anymore. Overall, the stay was amazing. Just needs AC and English speaking staff please (because this place had a lot of tourist, I was surprised no one can speak English)

    Okada hotel
The hotel looks old from the outside, but the inside is surprisingly new and clean. We had a Japanese dinner in the room. The food was great. It was a far walk from the bus stop with our luggages. On the way back we had a local bus pick us up at the hotel to take us to the train station. Was only 100 Yen pop per person. If we would had known, we would have taken it to the hotel. Service was great, hotel was very clean. Would suggest the Hakone free pass. If using all the rides round trip, would more than cover the cost.

For the price, the room is so so, excepr there is hot tub in the room. Don't expect too much on Buffet dinner. Basement eating places are smoking area. There are smoking room on the same floor.

    A good stay in Hakone
Hotel is very clean and staff is also very helpful. Check in is quick and the buffet dinner is very good. The hot tub in room is fantastic and we all enjoyed it so much. The amenities are very complete and nicely prepared. The only thing I would like to recommend for improvement is the room size for 4 people is a bit tight. It would be good if they can offer a bigger room for family so more spacious and more comfy.
