Pleasant surprise
This place was definitely a pleasant surprise. Knowing that it was a room for rent above a hotel we weren't expecting very much other than a place to sleep but it turned out to be fabulous. The woman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very nice, and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.

A bit of a mixture
Qudos is an old pub in the centre of Salisbury that has been converted into a tapas bar. Upstairs there are a number of bedrooms for overnight guests. While the ground floor seems to have been pretty much gutted to create a minimalist interior, the upstairs retains some of the original features while offering updated en- suite shower rooms. Don't try following the Car Park sign at the back of the building. If you do that you will turn into a courtyard with outdoor seating and maybe knock down a few customers. I had to park on the street but it involved having to feed the meter a couple of times. Fortunately I didn't get a ticket. The food was really good, as was the live music; and the staff were friendly. But the accommodation side of the business is peripheral. You really are just renting a room. The bartender took our payment, showed us to our rooms, and told us that a staff person would be on duty next morning to serve breakfast. We should then let ourselves out by a back door, as the rest of the building would be locked. I never could get the wifi to work. The rooms were a good size, but the bed was very uncomfortable - a thin bumpy mattress on wooden slats. The rooms also really needed a deep clean - beyond the daily cleaning that a housekeeper would do, they were dirty. I didn't try the shower, because when I emptied my sink the water backed up into the shower tray. Eew.
