3 Star hotel at best.
LIT Bangkok was a very modern looking hotel with a convenient location to many great attractions in Bangkok. Unfortunately it is off a side street surrounded by short run down buildings that make it feel like you are staying in an unattractive neighborhood. The views from your room are old run down dirty buildings all around you. The pool area is tiny and you will not see any sun due to the fact that you are shaded the entire day. The suite we booked was a very strange configuration that made the living room almost unusable as it was long and narrow with no real space. Stick to the regular room and safe yourself $50 per night. The bathroom was awesome with a huge soaking tube and separate round shower with cool lights and shower heads. The bar was very modern however the view is straight into a row of rundown dirty buildings. Bangkok has so many beautiful hotels to choose from. LIT is just not up to par with what the city has to offer IMHO.

Comfortable hotel but staffs are not respectful
The hotel room itself is quite comfortable. We are not fussy about things in the room and the bed and toilet is really good. However on the day that we left, we requested a late checkout a few days back and were allowed to stay till 1pm as told by the staff. The day before our checkout, we once again re confirmed with the staff and this time they said we were not allowed late check out. The ridiculous thing is that the staff was asking us which of their colleague allowed us the late check out. We did not know we were supposed to take note of staffs that fufilled our requests. - this happened on 8th january, about 3+am in the morning when we returned to the hotel. On the day of the check out, we left our baggages in the hotel while we went out as we had a late night flight. We were already checked out by 12+pm. When we returned in the evening, a manager approached and said that a pouched that was used to cover the water bottle was missing. The attitude then was really atrocious, and when we said we did not take it, he wanted us to check our bags then. So is he accusing us of lying? For a water bottle pouch? Furthermore, when approaching another manager because I wanted to clarify the issue, he said that he already talked to my bf about it and he told him it doesn't matter at all anymore. So why bring it up in the first place if it didnt matter? Digging a hole for yourself or believing your guests are stealers? We are offended by the hotel's actions. Please train your staff.

New modern hotel
The LiT hotel in Bangkok is a modern chin hotel located in a quiet line about 3 minutes will from the MBK Centre. After reading the many glowing reviews of this hotel so it's the one I will give it a try. The hotel is modern and designed with colored lighting to set various moods. The staff are friendly and the hotel is modern. After checking in with reception you walk to the lifts which are extremely dark inside when you hit up to your room the car doors leading to your room I want and again set with mood lighting. You went to the room and the rooms are modern and spacious with ducted air-conditioning and mood lighting. The beds quite firm a common occurrence in Asian hotels but probably a little hard for Westerners. I checked the room and found some of the things listed in the mini bar were not in the room and also they was a door handle to one of the cabins that was damaged. I told them to reception and the problem was rectified a short time later. The water pressure in the shower is good and there is a soaking bathtub with mood lighting over it. Room service cleanliness is very poor and really detracts from the overall quality of this hotel. They did not clean up things around the vanity basin, they did not replace the soap or dental kits, they did not put away the hair dryer and there are no hand towels provided and as I used one of the two bath towels on the first day they did not replace that either which is very poor in today's standards.

Good property, Excellent Location
The room was nice and cozy with good layout and space area to move around. The room also featured a nice stand-alone bath tub. Only thing was the holder of the standing shower head could not be adjusted up and down and water tend to splash through the small gap of the glass door onto the floor area outside the shower cubicle. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Though it’s fully booked, you don’t feel crowded in the hotel premises. Gym and jacuzzi only operates from 6am to 6pm which closes too early. Should extend it till late evening. Had a bad encounter with the taxi driver when departing the hotel. Told the hotel conceige staff that we were heading to the nearby train station to take the airport train. The security went out to bring in a taxi and might have conveyed the wrong destination. Driver after picking us was upset that we were only heading to the train station and was extremely rude to tell us get out of his taxi when we refused to agree to him keeping the change (fare was 60 baht and he asked to keep 100). This wasn’t the hotel’s fault but thought if the destination was made clear to the driver, we could have a more pleasant ride. Overall a good stay and we will be back given it’s good location and hospitality.

good hotel
Overall experience is good. Maybe hotel wants to improve the English language of the staff. The only bad experience was when the concierge still cannot get the idea of where we are suppose to go (even after showing the staff the website of the place and the address) and even after telling the concierge to please get us a metered taxi, he got us a taxi, but as we got to the main road, the taxi driver decided to tell us he is not turning on the meter. And we end up paying 500baht for a 20 mins journey (to Zanook Wavepark). And yet, the taxi driver still sent us to the wrong venue and made us 1 hr late for our booking at Zanook. We felt so cheated and disappointed.
