The Moores Hotel, Blackpool
Comfortable hotel for our weekend stay
Although the proprietors are undertaking renovations & refurbishments they made us very welcome. The hotel has a dated charm, which reflects the history of the property. The room had all that we needed, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

Extremely stressful stay
On entry to the hotel I was a little shocked with the random stuffed toys dotted around and it looked quite run down both inside and outside the building, but the friendly welcome and early check in was quite encouraging. However, my trip turned quite sour after only a few hours. I returned to the hotel approx. 5 hours after leaving there for a bit of shopping to find that part of the roof/outside of the hotel had fallen onto my car within their designated parking area. This completely cracked the windscreen (which needed to be replaced) along with significant scratches and dents on the roof, bonnet and bodywork. I'm not sure exactly what had caused the damage as it had been cleared off the vehicle by the time I returned, just leaving small bits of slate and masonry on the car. I have sent a number of emails (as suggested by my insurance company) to the hotel since my stay to try and get the damage rectified, but they have completely failed to respond. I think their final comment before I left of 'parked at owners own risk' set out thier intentions on the matter and this proved to be a very expensive and stressful stay. I would not recommended this hotel and would avoid parking near there unless there has been significant external renovations. I would have rated my overall stay as 0, but didn't think this would register.

Grim, but bearable
It is best not to stay for one night only when out of season, although the one person left in charge did his best for us, it was a bad choice of hotels, and district, and and advice from Com
