About Hellstens Malmgård, Stockholm

Manor-style lodging in central Stockholm

Quiet spot in the center

It's easy to forget the bustle of Stockholm's most populated neighborhood when you're tucked away inside this hotel. With its 18th-century-estate style and attentive, friendly service, the building seems more like a manor house than a hotel.

3 stops to the Old Town

The convenience of Zinkensdamm Metro Station, a 3-minute walk away, gives guests easy access to the Old Town. There, you can ogle the Royal Palace and watch the changing of the guard.

Bountiful breakfast

Guests rave about breakfast at Hellstens Malmgård. Freshly baked breads can be enjoyed with a variety of cheeses or preserves; eggs, yogurt, and fruit are among the other options.

Small but stylish

Rooms tend toward the cozy side -- after all, this was a house built in the 18th century -- but are decorated stylishly, each with its own design and vibe, plus free WiFi. Some rooms have a particularly interesting touch: stoves from the 1770s, evoking the hotel's history.

Pretty much perfect
This is a very nice hotel. We loved the interior design with its fun and interesting details. Warm & cosy feeling. Quiet. Easy access to everything. Perfect for a romantic stay. Perfect for almost anyone. Breakfast was just perfect. Everything was pretty much perfect. 😀

Great place to stay in Sweden
We used this as our "home" in Sweden - staying here while in Stockholm, and leaving luggage behind while we traveled to other spots in Sweden. We really enjoyed it - the best thing about it was the service - the staff were uniformly helpful and cheerful. We liked the location - very quiet - and the fact it was a historic place. The breakfasts were great. It is not a modern hotel - and those expecting that will be disappointed, and the rooms are small - but it is clean, well run, cozy, interesting and has a fantastic staff.

Great Hotel - Great Hip Neighborhood
We loved this hotel! A 5 min walk from the metro in a very young & hip neighborhood. The hotel staff was attentive & very accommodating. There is coffee/tea in the lobby 24/7 or you may get wine & beer. The included breakfast offered pastries, eggs, bacon, herring, etc. Well produced food and displayed beautifully. Our room was comfortable and larger than we had expected. Housekeeping did a great job. It appears that the staff is small but they are very professional and know their jobs. A 25 min walk to historic Galma Stan. This hotel is in the perfect location, with a great feel to it being over 200 yrs old. Well maintained and just beautiful. Take the time to stroll around the interior and appreciate the antiques. We stayed in room 702 on the bottom floor and outside our room was a small patio (would loved to have used it but it was 0-4C. Stockholm is a very easy city to navigate between the metro, bus & walking. This hotel is in the perfect location for access to all things. We will be returning in warmer weather and most certainly will only stay here. Don't forget to ask the front desk for advise on sites to see, those to miss. We certainly saved money by taking their advise and saw an amazing city. We will return.

Fine Place to Be in November; Gorgeous City
The breakfast was good, and the staff very professional. The communal computer is helpful. The property is an old building, with some charm and historical significance. There's a good room with free coffee/tea/water, that also has some books, a pretty chill library-like space. There are at least two book exchange areas total. The capacity is 50 people, but it feels like less somehow, in a good way. The bathrooms are small-- I was in one of the larger rooms, and the toilet and shower are separated (toilet and sink on the left in one room, and shower, sink, and mirror on the right in another room). The shower is set up well, and in a cool design. The hotel is very safe, as there's a gate requiring a key for entry. The Sodermalm area of the city is where this is, on the western side. Walking to Gamla Stan only takes about 25 minutes, and a little further to Norrmalm. Stockholm is a stylish city, with a good feel, not too loud-- lots of good shopping. My time there coincided with the international film festival and a professional ping pong tournament. This is a great place.

Convenient hotel in beautiful historic building
It was just a short stay to meet with friends, and the hotel was perfect for the purpose thanks to the nice common areas. Breakfast was great, location even thou is not central is very close to metro station and to nice local restaurants, bars and shopping areas. Staff was wonderful, very friendly and courteous.
