Overall a very pleasant stay.
Overall a fantastic hotel and would happily stay there again. Excellent location at a reasonable price considering the central location. Nice bar also.

great location- need to clear stains off rugs
I am a little confused about this hotel. Overall- awesome location, hip vibe, nice, clean bathroom, comfortable bed, but very dirty/stained rug and chairs. Not a typical hotel- more like a hostel.hotel combo situation. Perhaps the price 9 $100/night is because of the location, but I didn't think it was a good deal.

Unique, metro-friendly, restaurant/hotel!
Hotel Ocho is definitely not a Marriot type hotel. It is unique and has some quarks but is totally worth it. The hotel is above a restaurant/bar so you check in by entering the restaurant. The staff was very nice! Not so good things: The room is laid out a bit odd (the bed is in center of the room) and the desk is very small. Also no overhead lights in the bedroom portion, only lamps (which I enjoyed but I feel like some people might think it a bit dark). The room was clean but had a tinge of smell of cigarette smoke (especially annoying for an ex-smoker). If there is an event in the bar/restaurant you will have to enter through the side and take 3 flights of stairs up to your room. I like taking stairs so I didn't mind but I could see this being an issue. You also have to take the stairs if you arrive to the hotel between midnight and 7AM (because the restaurant is closed). It might be worth checking to see if any events are planned for that weekend. The stair issue was not as annoying as wedding guests in the room next to me yelling drunkenly then throwing up all morning (as heard from the vent). :-( Good Things: The restaurant was so good! I had to force myself to eat outside of my hotel but often ended up regretting that I didn't just eat there because it really was some of the best food I had in Toronto. Wi-Fi was good! Hotel was clean! Bed was comfy! Air Conditioning was functional and not too loud!

Will stay here again
If you like cookie cutter hotels then Hotel Ocho is not for you. If you like a little different with friendly and helpful staff then check them out. Perfect location (if you love vinyl records there is an amazing store just a block away). Room was a good size. Loved the rain shower. Bed was comfortable. Very clean. Parking nearby for about $10 US per night.
