Hidden Gem
I absolutely loved this hotel, the staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. The actual hotel itself was gorgeous, old Chinese house that was restored. The staff made me feel comfortable and were very kind. In the evening they gave a free Tai Chi class. The subway was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. My room was large, clean with a very comfortable bed, and pleasant shower. There were many common areas in this hotel that I could use to sit and work. I would come back here again if I return to Beijing.

Oasis hidden away in a hutong
The facility and staff are both amazing. The breakfasts were great. Anything that we had the hotel plan was excellent. For example, when hiring a car to and from the airport, clean and comfortable vehicles arrived both times with professional drivers. Our bus trip to The Great Wall was also perfect. Make sure to take advantage of the little classes the hotel offers too, such as calligraphy, dumpling making, postcard making, etc. These were great values for the money and we learned so much. If we go back to Beijing, we will stay there again - no doubt!!

Excellent experience with the Chinese style room
The Chinese room is great, Excellent experience. The staff is also excellent! They helped us to book cars, tickets, and even restaurant reservations. We specially would like to thank Miss Li at the front desk (Hopefully we spell her name correctly) who helped us with a lot of arrangements.

Unique Chinese experience in very residential area
As many have already described, this unique hotel is a 2008 build of the traditional Chinese courtyard where there are only 10 available hotel "rooms". The ground floor has several units designed in the traditional Chinese furnishings, while the basement has the remaining units, which are all modernly designed. The ground floor has a beautiful courtyard in the middle where tables are set for morning breakfast or late night chatting. It is also the grounds for their shadow art exhibition, which is coordinated with their other sister hotel and scheduled to run 2-3 times a week. The service is attentive as the staff are very courteous and friendly. I loved the morning breakfast and the Chinese breakfast that they offered. Each morning there was something different, like one day they would serve congee along with various Chinese pastries and another day it would be a noodle soup and something else. Very filling to say the least. The local area is definitely residential and location is not easy to find. There are many narrow hutongs (streets) including the one for this hotel. Either way, once you find the place, it is kind of cool to just walk around the local streets and see how people get about. Watch out for those silent motorbikes with no lights, they just come zipping by at night from behind and you wouldn't know. Only complaint is you have to knock the main door to access the premises, so someone had to come open the gate for you. Lack of secrecy I guess.
