Apartments Nerio, Dubrovnik

The location was fantastic. Nerio was very kind and helpful checking us in early and assisting us with our luggage! The room ("apartment") itself was very small and basic. The bathroom was very mildewed. And the bed was not particularly comfortable given the price point. Higher quality sheets, along with a modern day mattress and pillows, would be a wise investment!

Location, Location, Location - the BEST! It's right in the heart of Old Town Dubrovnik with NO STEPS to climb and with lots of restaurants and attractions nearby. Perfectly clean with a very nice staff who agreed to store our luggage. Hot water was plentiful and our twin room (one double, one pull out couch) was very comfortable. My only complaint - no international news channels (CNN/BBC) in English. Mr. Nerio and his staff were very nice.

Strengths: good location (old city center). cleaned, well-equipped, fridge, room : spacious and with independent air conditioned. negative points: street noise: despite of the double glazing, street noise till very late. noise due to the common apartment entrance: The apartment is actually divided into two apartments. the access of the second floor apartment passes through the middle of the first floor apartment (between the room and the bathroom). In addition to the noise caused by the access by the wooden stairs, neighbors voices are listen as if they were with us (to get worst, neighbors decided to do a party in the apartment till very late). Pillows are too high and hard.

The room was on the square where the Market is held daily. Other Nerio rooms are on the Stratun. Our room had a private bathroom across a public hallway shared by the upstairs room. The bathroom was hot and smelly because you had to keep the door locked and had no AC. The kitchenette was in the hallway too. The location was the best thing. Market bakery and convenience store where steps away. We ate our breakfast pastries at benches around the Old Port. Once in the Gates the walk to room was flat unlike probably many other apartments. Dubrovnik is very hilly

Ideally located within the city walls overlooking one of the main squares. Host on hand to meet us and very welcoming along with helpful information. Explained facilities - they are a bit dated but acceptable - the bathroom is refurbished. there are some steep steps up to the apartment from the square - if location to the city is important then worth considering.
