Stayed at The Anglers Arms for a family wedding at Brinkburne Priory. The management were good enough to permit us to take over our rooms early so that we could refresh ourselves and change our clothes after a long journey. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Great base for a weekend in Northumbria
Typical rooms-above-a-pub hotel - the floors are a bit creaky, plenty of noise from the pub downstairs in the evening, but a great location for Brinkburn Priory (where we were attending a wedding). Service was superb, and they happily got our rooms prepared early so that we could change after a long journey. Breakfast was good; cooked to order, service was lovely and friendly although ingredients were average.

Only spoiled by the squirty cream
I really enjoyed my stay at this friendly and comfortable inn. It was great value, rooms were nice and the beer/food was good. There is real ale, I was impressed by the menu and there are dishes prepared from locally-sourced food, which is good to see. I had a very nice meal, which was spoiled only by the use of squirty cream in the Irish coffee (I'd forgotten this was the north of England). I didn't make a fuss because everything else was so good. Breakfast was excellent. Location is quite pretty, next to a trout river (there were anglers staying there) and close to the A1 for people heading north and looking for a stop-over.

Fantastic Staff
Had a lovely stay here, Staff are excellent and the food extremely good. The only downside was we had a room above the restaurant so could hear diners talking. A beautiful area, out of the way and peaceful.
