Hot and cold!
We asked for a room with a walk in shower which was willingly provided but it was a few metres from the A40 so we had to sleep with the windows shut on hot nights. There were plumbing problems in room 207 so we could only have a tepid shower and initially very hot water came from the washbasin's cold tap. None of this was the fault of the lovely staff but the owner should make changes. These problems probably do not apply to the main balconied rooms on the floor above facing the river so ask for one of these!

Not Value For Money
I paid £95 for one night for a twin room with breakfast. It wasn't worth it. On arrival the tv wasn't working. Then, when it was on, there was a constant buzzing noise forcing you to increase the volume in order to hear! One of the beds was right next to the radiator. The heating was on at 7a.m. (centrally controlled) and the radiator was making banging noises on a Sunday morning! I was not pleased at all. The room only had a shower, not a bath. The shower head was right in the middle of the cubicle and could not be moved at all. The hot water tap had to be turned out when out of the cubicle in order to warm up the water which unfortunately never got too warm! The hotel has a restaurant which we visited for dinner. You were not allowed to sit anywhere but at a specific given table! The food was very well cooked. However, the main menu had absolutely nothing suitable for a child! My 8 year old son asked if he could change his ordered meal with something from the kids menu which we discovered it existed by accident! Unfortunately, my son had to eat what he originally ordered as they would not change it. The total experience was not pleasant. It has great views and the food is very good but I'm afraid that's it. It is definitely not a family friendly hotel and I did not get the feeling at all of being welcomed there! It is definitely not worth £95 a night. It seems the owners have concentrated on the restaurant and have lost sight of their hotel!

Just 1 night, comfortable and clean. Friendly and obliging staff. Evening food was excellent but the breakfast was disappointing. It tasted as if it had been kept warm for a while which made it quite tough.
