Just back from 4 days in Rome
The hotel is more like a B&B with only 7 rooms. The room is small but average for European hotels. The plumbing is a bit of an issue (as others have mentioned ) with unpredictable hot water and noisy pipes. The breakfast is a coffee and croissant next door at a cafe. The location is great for Vatican activities although you will want to go further to in-tourists areas for good food. Staff was nice and helpful. I didn't think it was as good a deal as I expected.

Great location... tricky locating the building and then parking to unload suitcases from car since it is smack in the middle of a pedestrian area but in the end all worked out. Great wifi.

Great price, nice and accomodating staff
I arrived very late in the evening. The owner - Mario - was a tremendous resource. He pointed me in the right direction and got my vacation off on a great start. I am very glad I chose Residenza Risorgimento. And only 3 blocks from St. Peter's Square - you can not find a less expensive better location in Rome!!

An odd stay but an unbelievable location
We've stayed in luxury hotels to small bed and breakfasts in Rome. First off, it is the best location of any hotel that we have ever stayed at in Rome. A 1-2 minute walk from St. Peter's Square, restaurants outside the door and very close access to public transport. The best location of anyplace that we have ever stayed in Rome. Now the strange part. This is an old building with ancient plumbing. Being on the fifth story (don't worry there is an elevator) water is brought up with an electric pump. AND IT IS LOUD! So loud that my wife and I could not stop laughing. We would try to not use the restroom in the middle of the night because we were certain we were waking everyone in surrounding buildings. A shower was even worse because that sound would happen every 5 seconds or so! The bed was also brutally uncomfortable to the point of back pain. There was no foundation for the mattress. So you had a mattress sitting on an iron fence looking sort of thing and you could feel every piece of metal directly into your back. On a scale of 1-10 I give the mattress a 2. It was that bad. We did not watch tv but the placement of it was so high up that if there was no remote control I could not have reached the buttons to turn it on and I am six feet tall. Will we stay here again if the three other hotels in the area are not available when we visit. It was not bad enough for us to not stay here again but certainly not good enough to become a preferred place for us.
