Not impressed, I have stayed in a lot of five star hotels and this is certainly not one of them. We purchased an apartment with a private pool which is well over 2000€ per night, the jacuzzi tub didn’t even work. It took three stern phone calls to the front desk and 45 minutes waiting to get a maintenance person to our room to fix the pool. Once we finally got maintenance personnel in the room, almost an hour went by and the power shut off on the entire outside patio, making it entirely unusable. I figured it wasn’t worth another phone call to the front desk as we were leaving the morning after. However, noted it for future (potential) stays. I understand in Italy things move a bit slower, and people are a bit more lackadaisical on basic problem-solving but this was extremely frustrating. Another major issue I have here is that the hotel seems to pick and choose what is open and when it’s open - they have a fabulous bar which is advertised on their website but it isn’t open (really). You approach the dimly lit bar with a full spread of liquor and your greeted by someone who can’t actually serve you - in fact they wait for you to seat yourself to tell you that they can’t serve you and that the bar is in fact closed, shuttering you to another bar across the way (the pool bar). I don’t totally understand the mechanics of working or operating a hotel in Italy, but my basic fundamentals of business tell me this is a function of laziness, disorganization and subpar service.
