Generator Dublin, Dublin
Sad face.
Odd place. Perhaps at 36 I’m too old for this type of hostel. I felt it had no soul and it was very similar to sleeping above a night club. The location was perfect for me but I would definitely not recommend this hostel to anyone over 22. These sort of places that are just converted hotels feel like they need to suck every dime out of you they can.

Great room, but you won't sleep
Great apartment, but LOUD. You WILL. NOT. SLEEP. We asked for our family to be located at least two floors above the bar/restaurant so that the kids would be able to sleep, and the staff person was not sympathetic. Told us that we had selected a hotel in the party district, and didn't even try to relocate us. I wore earplugs every night and could still hear the music. Up side... the room itself was great and centrally located.

Very Good8.0
I thought the Generator was great! Overall, my wife and I really enjoy this hostel. It's in a great location with plenty of amenities in the area. The staff was fantastic and the food is good if you don't feel like venturing out.

Decent stay but little comfort
Decent location and a good vibe, but not really comparable with a hotel in terms of experience. The private rooms are still a bit run down and everything is quite basic in terms of quality. Luggage storage lockers are terrible and defective.
