Spacious rooms, FABULOUS location, caring staff
After being placed in a room that was noisy when I had specifically asked for quiet, the hotel staff knocked themselves out to ensure I was happy. Really I could not have been happier with the service I received. They considered my needs in every way and thoroughly understood the adjustment one goes through in arriving in a new city. I appreciated that a great deal. It made my stay. The hotel is older, but has great charm and character, with nice big comfortable rooms. Other guests remarked about this.

Don't let them relocate you to a dirty hotel
Having seen the Tripadvisor reviews by Emilydothu, Peter W and PeterCoach stating that management claimed the hotel was overbooked and moved them to a filthy, presumably affiliated hotel, I had my reservations. On my second morning I was awakened with a 9am phone call from reception with the "overbooked" excuse and offer of a room at an affiliated hotel. It was obvious this hotel was being systematically used to bait travelers and switch them to another more difficult to sell, dirtier, less desirable or all the above. I confronted the reception lady with the reviews, and her excuse was they occurred under prior management. A likely story, seeing as the most recent review was 31 March 2016. I stood my ground and refused to relocate, and was asked to leave. I contacted the relocation team at Hotels.com who very graciously looked up comparable hotels in the area for me, offered me one, handled the entire booking process and stayed on the line the whole time. It pays to know your rights, and have access to wifi or a local data plan to call your booking portal with- something the Ritz is obviously hoping you will not have.

Don't get fooled
This hotel was known as "Indochina Boutique Hotel" few weeks ago, and before that "Hidden charm" and who knows what before that. We booked the Honeymoon suite and the room was not as described, the main problems we had: - the advertised "jetted tub with massage showerhead" doesnt work. You get a decent sized tub with non functional spraying heads. Using the small water heater it can be filled up to about 10 cm depth - technically what you get is a shower in a big plastic bowl. - the advertised 40" TV is actually more like 28" - the advertised "20 minutes free foot massage" are non existant - we had to explain our disappointment multiple times to the staff, who refused to get us in touch with the manager. After 3 days of stonewalling us, they offered partial refund, which after negotiating was raised to about 20% of what we paid for the room. In addition to the completely different experience to what we expected, the whole place was not really clean, and very run down (cracked sink, mould in the corners, etc.). The first time they cleaned the room the cleaning staff decided to move our stuff - we had clothes, underwear arranged on two chairs and they moved everything to a corner, had to go and explain that this is not acceptable. One good thing about the hotel is the location - very central, but there are so many hotels around, just pick another one.

Will not choose for my next trip
Unpleasant experience. the hotel conditions are poor. There was bathroom light was not working. The hotel staff when asked to replace the light gave a funny reason instead of fixing the light! This was most dissapointing! Some fixtures in bath cabin were broken.Overall cleanliness of bathroom was poor.
