Run down place to stay
This Hotel needs a remodel- would not stay there again
1 night family trip
Rundle Mountain Lodge, Banff National Park
Excellent4.0 / 5
Canmore is a bit farther south from "all the action" (10-15 minutes from the entrance to the National Park). But it's nice to be outside the hubbub of the town of Banff. Plus, the drive is extraordinary! This is a good place to stay if you came in late one night and wanted to wait to pay the park fee until the next day and if you are looking for a more discounted room during peak season. We booked a non-smoking room for two nights, but our room had an underlying smoke smell as though at one point it had been a smoking room. We did not address this with the hotel management as we were only in the room to sleep, and the smell was not overpowering. However, if you have an allergy or sensitivity to tobacco, I recommend verifying with the hotel directly when booking that the room is smoke-free.

Better than expected
Better than expected. Stayed in a "cedar" room. Flooring is new hard laminate. Liked that we could cook since had a range/oven. Had a separate room and shower was hot. A bit pricy, but that's the way the area is.

Nothing over exciting but good
Quick overnight stay. It was fine for the night. Nothing fancy but reasonably priced compared to other hotels around.

GOOD
Staff were nice. Bathroom was remodeled and super clean but since its an old building it lacks on soundproof. I could hear other guests in the next room talking clearly. But other than that, it was OK.
