AMAZING stay
Great place with great food and great people. in a beautiful surrounding, beautiful terrace to enjoy the sun and great pub and restaurant with quality food. The room is modern, clean and comfortable- and above all, the staff and the owner are friendly, welcoming and warm. A great place to stay in the peak district and escape for a while from the noise, traffic and worries.

Fantastic accommodation, dog friendly. Food ££££
The hotel is in great location for walking in the Peak District. The rooms are clean and a good size. The hotel is dog FRIENDLY. This is different to most places that claim to be but are instead 'vaguely dog tolerant'. The rooms are on the pricey end for the quality, but being able to bring our dogs justifies this for us. 5 out of 5, but 1 star off for the food: The restaurant bar has a lovely feel and again we can take our dogs in here. This is why we put up with the pricey food. I like a good steak and have eaten Fillet in many places, including other 4 star establishments. Here, the Fillet steak is £27 with a small portion of chips and a pleasant port & Stilton sauce. It was cooked right and was good, but over-priced. This was the theme of all the food and drink. The ale is good but no better than any other good pub... but it was more expensive. There are cheaper options but all still relatively expensive. My wife had Dover sole £22. It was presented and cooked well and rightly should have cost... but it just seemed over priced. The younger female staff did their job but out smiles or pleasantries. Not really a problem as we're not there to make friends but a little more pleasantness would not have gone a-miss. The man on charge that night was great, let me try the beer and see the wines and the owners (I presume) where excellent. We've been before and will come again. Knock a couple off pound of the menu and it's perfect!

Great stay at The Plough Inn.
We had a great 3 nights at The Plough Inn. The service from James at the bar and the owners, Bob & Cynthia, and their staff was fantastic. They were very helpful, especially when our luggage hadn't arrived on our flight and we were waiting for it to turn up. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to our friends. Our room, 2, was a little on the small side but it was clean and comfy so it wasn't really an issue. The whole place had a very warm and friendly feel to it, especially the bar and restaurant area. Thanks for a great stay.

Great place to stay for a walking weekend.
We booked the Plough Inn as the base for our walking weekend after a recommendation from a friend. Essentially you have a good pub with rooms. It's not a 5 star spa resort, but it isn't pretending to be. The food on offer both for breakfast and in the evening are of a high standard and the friendliness of the staff was excellent. There was a mishap in the kitchen which led to my better half eating separately from the rest of our party when we had an evening meal which was far from ideal, but I believe that was an unfortunate accident and did not detract too much from an otherwise very enjoyable stay.
