Older hotel in good location.Doing many of the small things right and good service. Top roof pool ok, Breakfast ok, Gym so so. We needed to ask them to clean the floors and replace the dirty sheets when we first saw the room. After that first day, the cleaning was up to standard. The hotel is getting old though. There was only cold water in the shower and in the zink. The temperature outside was on the warmer side but we still prefer to have some hot water in the shower. We highlighted the problem and asked to change the room. Before the change they checked the new room for hot water twice and said it was ok. After check-in we experienced no change in the water temperature. It was still cold. Not enough of hot water. In a typical Thai way they said it is fixed but no one takes any responsibility. If the water temperature would be normal I would give the hotel high remarks. I like the place (but hate cold showers).

I was charged for dirty sheets, I walked into my room to see it cleaned but with a large pile of used sheets and towel on the floor. If that wasn’t bad enough I see a bill for the cleaning of the sheets and towel (which was still on my room floor) this happened on my last day so at checkout I tell the front desk about it and they told me I need to find the housekeeper to talk to her about it because the front desk isn’t in charge of them even the managers. I tell the girl I’m upset and will leave a negative review of the hotel and they said it’s ok no big deal to them. For a mid price hotel I’d expect a lot more for the price. On the other hand I’m currently at the aqua hotel up the street and this is a 5 star hotel, will stay here from now on. I should of read the reviews of this hotel, epic fail. Avoid this hotel, and save yourself a huge headache. Also the noise from the surrounding bars will keep you up till 2-3 am, music vibration shakes the whole room. Bed rock hard also. Breakfast Buffet also has no taste and the staff rather talk with each other instead of assisting the guests

This is located in a great spot close to shops and bars . I found the bed actually a bit to big and the shower waster didn’t drain away because the fall of the tiles was wrong . Breakfast was good but the room was little bit noisy with bars about 20 meters away .

The hotel is located near the end of Beach Road Soi 10 (away from the beach). There was a small welcome drink on arrival and 1,000 baht deposit. The lobby and foyer look impressive with the book/library theme but unfortunately the room was a disappointment due to the hotel's age. While spacious, the room was old and in need of refurbishment. The walls were scuffed, furniture was chipped, there were some insects and the cleaning was not to the highest standard. The springs in the mattress could be felt and it was the least comfortable mattress of all the properties I stayed at on this trip (including budget hotels and guesthouses). The bathroom was nice and spacious but the shower arrangement was poor, including an old fabric shower curtain. Despite that, the shower had good water pressure and satisfactory temperature. Air conditioning was effective but too loud even on the lowest setting. The internet connection was unreliable and seemed to drop out quite often. Noise from nearby bars was not problematic, but other hotels on Soi 10 are quieter if that's important. While not a particularly bad hotel, it certainly cannot be recommended at normal rates and unfortunately remains hard to recommend even at a heavily discounted price.

Minor ( easily fixable) failings in hotel condition are more than compensated for by the positive can do attitude of staff. This was not our first choice of hotel however all things considered we will more than likely stay there again. Wi-Fi wavered between very weak signal to non existent service which could only be remedied by the fitting of an additional router in the room. This was done by the hotel staff no problem. Aircon sounded like an industrial cooler more than an hotel aircon and desperately needs some attention. Room was big, well set out but had a feeling if being a bit grubby. The hotel did seem to have a rather high incidence of "additional guests" which brings along the usual late night /early morning noise and corridor shouting which I find upsetting but that is hardly the hotels fault. Just a relatively minor investment by management on upgrading the decor and furniture in the rooms plus installing Wi-Fi properly could make this one of our Asian Gem hotel finds. I do so hope that the management read this positively as it is meant to be.
