Good price for 3
Not easy to find, but owner was helpful in getting my car parked. No internet in room. A bit of a walk to downtown, but bus stop nearby. We left very early, so no breakfast. Very small bathroom & shower. Neat old house.

Impersonal checkin. Very tight parking. Bed could be better. WiFi did not work either day. Was convenient to bus into Edinburgh.

This hotel was perfect for our family. We visited the area while our son was at the University of Edinburgh. The campus was close as well as the rest of the sights. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was made to order and was very good. The house is beautiful.

Great place to stay with great breakfast!
My boyfriend and I stayed at Strathallan house for two nights on a quick weekend trip to Edinburgh. It was absolutely lovely! The guesthouse is quite old and has a lovely history, like almost everything in Edinburgh. The rooms were comfortable and very clean and there was working, though sometimes spotty wifi. The stair s and floors creak and it can get quite cold in the rooms but what else would you expect from an old house? The blankets on the beds kept us comfortably warm at night so we didn't mind the slight cold. The best thing about Strathallan house is by far the breakfast! All the food is made to order and taste great! We travelled throughout the U.K. and to Paris and none of our other lodgings had breakfast this good. A full English breakfast per person every morning plus pastries, fruit, etc. included in your already cheap room! And there were vegetarian options as well! The woman who makes the breakfast is so kind and courteous and Eamon, the manager, is very helpful and nice. The guest house is just a few blocks from some nice bars and little restaurants and about a 10 minute walk from the main road in old town. It was perfect for our stay and I will definitely recommend it to my friends!
