Advertised check in time was from 1400 but when we arrived at 1500 our room was not ready to check into. We were shown into a lounge and games room to wait, which we were fine with. However, we soon noticed dogs mess on the floor in one area and what looked like dogs mess stains on another nearby area of the carpet which was a bit of a surprise and ruined our game of pool! The large family room we were eventually allowed into was spacious and reasonably comfortable, albeit with a generally tired feel. There were stains on some of the bedding, which was not very pleasant (although it did appear the linen had been washed and was stained rather than unclean). In the morning the shower didnt work. When we raised it with the host we were offered use of a shower in one of the other rooms on a different floor to our room. Didnt have breakfast as we had plans to meet friends for brunch, however it would have been difficult to enjoy eating there following the dogs mess incident the day before. Unfortunately, cleanliness and condition of the property led to a un-enjoyable stay. The hosts seemed friendly but disorganised e.g we appeared to be the only guests in tge whole hotel but our room was still not ready for a 1400 check in. PS - Christmas decorations still up (in Feb half term)!

A very comfortable stay, great bed and room. A good cooked breakfast. The hotel is an easy stroll to the centre of Bude parking was easy.

We had a fantastic overnight stay, the hotel does need some updating but was clean and comfortable and the owners were outstanding. A very warm and friendly welcome on arrival and the owners were so accommodating and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make our family stay an outstanding success. Plus they served up a superb breakfast the following morning! We shall definitely be making a return visit

The owners Paul and Lisa gave us a very warm welcome. Nothing was to much trouble. The breakfast was very good indeed, the special little touches made all the difference, such as the bottles of orange juice and 2 tea bags in the tea pot. Best breakfast we’ve had in a long time.
