Very smelly bathroom and horrible bed.
Hello, Please, help me get out of this place. I booked two stays in this hotel and had too many problems so far. The first time they sent someone in the midle of the night to fix the bathrom. Thr person left the place so dirty. I was promised the problems would not repeat for the next stay, but they got worse. The bathroom is in such horrible conditions that I feel threaten. I don't dare to have a shower in this place. The hotel is rated in your website as 4 star, so this kind of issues are not acceptable. It's like sending people to hell. I have stayed in 3 stars hotels in Rio before which are in much better conditions then this one. Please, please, help me get out of here! I would like my money back and go somewhere else. Got here late at night and it's 5 AM now. Did not manage to get any sleep yet. I barely washed my hand in the horrible bathroom. This is just insane. I need to be in Rio til next Friday March 3rd. But I cannot take this situation here. Please, do not put people in these kind of situation. Case the problem is not solved, this will look like a scam to me. I am really really sad and disapointed! I was given room #213 first. As soon as I arrived I used the restroom and the toilet tank was broken and leaking. I called front desk immediately and they sent up a maintenance man who accused me of breaking it saying it was not like that before. I was upset and called front desk. They gave me a new room. #216. It was smaller and it had no view. Only one small window that was covered by white paint and when you opened it, it was a view of a small space in the building. The second night I was surprised by an unwanted visitor. I had a poisonous centipede running from under my bed to the closet and back. I called front desk again and they sent a man up to try to find and kill it. I requested another room instead and I was given another room but I no longer could rest comfortably thinking of the insect all night. I wasn’t even relocated to a different floor. I was sent to #211. The whole process was a mess, even waiting for my laundry which arrived 3 hours too late.

Good hotel at great location
We generally enjoyed our stay. Hotel is very close to the station and the beach, supermarket nearby and we felt fairly safe even at night walking to/ from the station and beach (which cannot be said about many other parts of Rio). Room was spacious and bed huge!!Pool and bar upstairs was big enough for a bit of a refreshing splash and soaking up the sun with a cool caipirinha. The gym is pretty dated but ok to keep basic fitness up during holidays. The view while running is awesome! A few things to consider: the room doors are very thin and we were often woken up by the cleaners talking (fairly loud at times) on the corridors. Also the cleaners seem to be a bit hit-and-miss. The first few days she was determined to give us new shower gel etc on mass until we ended up with 18 bottles!! (We didn't use any of them). Not an issue as such but just very odd and we ran out of space for our own toiletries. Also our room got a bit sandy after we'd been on the beach and it took three days for the floor to be sufficiently cleaned-same with the bathroom tops. The breakfast buffet is huge and great if you love carbs. The hot food doesn't change though so after a few days we got a bit bored of the selection but others who like their sausage and onion might disagree. :) All in all I think is a good choice hotel - you pay more because it's Rio but I think it's worth it even just for the safe and easy location. Tip if you go for carnival: take some dressing up/festival stuff with you!

Exceptional 10.0
Nice hotel close to the beach with lovely staff.
I went to brazil with 3 friends of mine, over there a lot of people do not speak English so we were a bit worried about communication. The hotel however was great as all the staff spoke english, the front desk helped us with where to go (tourist stuff ) and a guy working at the front door had all the information about the local places to go and see. We had a room booked for 4 ( 2 double beds) it was a bit cramped with all of our luggage but still did the job. The breakfast is great big selection of cakes, fruits, pastries. Tthe only downside i would say is the pool very small and not big enough for you to do laps or anything it can be best described as a big jacuzzi ( without the bubbles). We only swam a few times as when it gets packed theres literally know space to move. Apart from that it is only 3 streets away from the beach (about a 5min walk) and right next to a local supermarket and a dominos which was great. The best part of the hotel was the staff though as mentioned the guy at the front door helped us out a lot as we are in our 20's and so was he, he gave us such great information of where to go that we didn't know about from websites or tour guides etc.

So glad we stayed the whole week here
We were very impressed with this hotel - we stayed here for a week, initially we were going to stay in two hotels - so glad we decided to have our full stay here! Great full buffet breakfast, fantastic location, brilliant pool/sauna area - in fact the photos on their website don't do it justice - the pool area is amazing. The room was huge for our family (which includes two teenagers) Air con was quiet and we loved that we could open the windows & have air con free time. Desk service people very helpful, loved that beach towels were available for the beach. WIFI was a bit hit & miss but we don't go on holidays for the WIFI. If we go back to Copacabana this will be our only option.
