Gem atop Cerro Concepcion
Claudio the owner is incredibly hospitable, the hotel is beautiful, very well-maintained and has spectacular views across Valparaíso. The hotel is closely located to a number of great restaurants and is close to the heart of the action. The bedding is luxurious! The area seems pretty safe but the streets around the hotel do get a little deserted at night, but that may have been because I was there on a Monday when a lot of the hilltop restaurants are closed. I really enjoyed my stay in Valparaíso and loved this hotel.

Great hotel
My wife and I really liked the hotel. The owner, Claudio and his wife, were so friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable we had a great view of the city. The rooftop area was neat too. The only thing we didn't like was the uncleanliness of the surrounding neighborhood. Valparaiso is crowded and dirty. Viña del Mar is much more upscale and cleaner. Now, having said that, Valparaiso is unique in its charm, if you are looking to be in the middle of some unique boutique restaurants and lots of street art, this hotel IS a great place to stay. I'd highly recommend it.

Nice little hotel, convenient location
We stayed in room #6, the top floor (#3) of the house (There are only 7 rooms in this hotel, and the rooms on the top floor are #5, #6, and #7. Apparently everyone crazed for room 7. Room 6, however, is really nice, maybe the nicest of all the rooms. It faces the hill/city and the church, instead of the ocean, and it's just beautiful at night (and daytime too). Everyone has access to the rooftop, but room #6 has its own part of the balcony, and you can have breakfast there. The room isn't big, and enough for two people. Breakfast is free, and the owner, Claudio, brought it to our room! It was gorgeous! The only thing I think needs improvement is the noise: overall the guests are quiet, but since it's an old building and everything seems to be built of wood, you could hear people walk up and down the stairs. Since every building in the town next to an alley, you could hear people on the street laugh at night, and even occasionally car sirens set off. If u r a sound sleeper, these issues may not bother u, but if u r very sensitive (like i am), u might not get a very good night's sleep. But again, this is not an issue of Just this hotel, but for all most buildings in the town. My own suggestion is that perhaps the owner should install a small fan in each room, so the sound of fan could serve as a background noise and soften the noise on the street and along the stairs.

A very pleasant overnight
Stayed on 21 Dec, 2014 in Room 103 with two single beds. The innkeepers are very welcoming and attention to detail is high; 'Manoir Atkinson' touches abound. The upper floor deck affords sweeping views of the seaport. Excellent wifi and breakfast are included. Nice!
