Half way point
This was our first visit to this 16th Century Inn and used as a half way point homeward bound from Scotland. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Room size ok, bed slightly harder than used to at home, ensuite very small hence challenging when trying to move around in it. Looked tired in places with uneven, sloping floors, no lift so may be a challenge for people with mobility problems. Tey did have a very good menu (plenty of choice) for breakfast and evening meas. Our evening meal was excellent but cooked breakfast had signs that it had been kept warm for a period of time. The value of the evening meal was reasonably priced

Clean and friendly but needs updating
Cosy Inn where we had a meal by the open fire. Friendly and welcoming staff. We shared a twin room with sink. Clean and tidy, but the mattress was hard so when I woke in the night I found it hard to get comfortable. A separate wifi code was given for the room, but no signal could be picked up. I couldn't get the shower to heat up, but realised afterwards that maybe the electric pull cord for the bathroom shower served that shower too. I used the bathroom shower which was fine.

overnight getaway
The staff were lovely and I think that this was the first time EVER we were shown the fire exit on arrival. The food was tasty but a little over priced for 'pub grub'. The room was ok, but the bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was hot and delicious.

Close to Kendal
Amazing Service, great location and very tasty evening meal and breakfast. The property is very old, so the condition is not great! Value for money at only £60 though.
