Cartagena gem!
It was a great stay in a very convenient, walkable location. The hotel staff were very hospitable. The double rooms were very spacious and nicely done. The hotel ambiance was a little gem within the neighborhood. Would definitely check it out again!

Gem of a hotel but electricity is intermittent.
The hotel was lovely so we were excited. The big problem with the hotel (potentially the neighborhood) is that the electricity would go out for hours at a time. Normally, that wouldn't be a big deal. But when it's 90+ degrees out with 90% humidity, you NEED an air conditioner. The staff tried to be as helpful as possible.

Great hotel in a great location!
This hotel was beautiful and right in the old city! They hotel staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. There was a city wide power outage on our last night and they did everything possible to make sure we were still comfortable. They did have back up generators as well which helped us with lighting during the outage.

Nice boutique hotel, poor customer service
Hotel Casa Canabal is a nice place. Great room, nice pool and patio area on the rooftop. The only gripe I have is their customer service. Our room didn't have hot water the morning of our check-out. We had hoped to get an early start to our day and sneak in a couple of sightseeing before our flight. Asked the front desk about the problem and it took them 20 minutes and me coming down 3 different times to finally get an answer that the water heater was broken. They told us to wait an hour for them to fix it, but did not offer any apology for the inconvenience. We had to wait it out and it worked about an hour later.
