This was an over night stay for my daughter and I for a near by college day. Very convenient for the college and shopping in the Gloucester town. Lovely pub 6 mins walking away along a busy road. The room was an awkward shape with a small bathroom for a luxury double. Bath was difficult to get in and out being very high up and shower in side the bath was cold. Very noisy floorboards above the room you can hear guess walking around.

Terrible service
It’s a shame that the worst customer service we have ever experienced at a hotel, ruined our stay at what has the potential to be a nice place to stay.

Quaint Country Inn, but I'm more of a Marriott man
Reviews made this out to be more of an established hotel, basically a B&B, with a restaurant (sort of). Good: close proximity to central city and Quay region (25 min walk/3 min drive). Staff was pleasant and helpful. Restaurant was cosy/nice and quality of breakfast was very good with some locally produced/sourced items. Linens in room were comfortable and good quality Negative: Older building so certain decor was dated. carpets in room were stained and other parts of the room (couch cushions/furniture) were dirty. No shower in room (tub only - yuck) and no A/C (weather was unseasonably warm and nights a bit uncomfortable). Huge room key/door fob that was a complete pain to lug around. Dinner was so-so, no tasting menu available even though restaurant was dead. Al la carte menu items were somewhat bland. Service at dinner was poor (inexperienced wait staff), and gratuity (10%) was automatically added to bill, which I have never seen before with a party of 3 diners, (although not intimately familiar with dining customs in region).
