Very dissapointed
No real friendly checkin. Just got handed a key and led half way to the room by the manager. No pleasantries whatsoever. Room was clean but up very steep stairs with no lightbulb to illuminate our way up or down in the dark. As elderly folks it was not pleasant. There was a light fighting hanging but just no bulb.... We Had supper there most nights and the Service was rushed each time. We always had to ask more than once for everything, and was just lacking. Coffee would arrive with out milk sugar or spoons & had to ask for everything individually. Things would be forgotten often and service was so very very slow, even for the countryside. Waiting 20 minutes to be served drinks is just too long... We would not return despite the lovely setting it is. Sad as we where so excited!!

Picturesque Cotswold Inn
What a great Cotswold Inn! The entire staff was fantastic, so nice, friendly, great service, great food and a special thanks to Ben for guiding us there. The location is about a 5 minute drive from downtown Chipping Norton, set in the beautiful Cotswolds. So glad we made the trip!

Lovely spacious room upstairs. Access is tight, but part of the experience.

A Gem hidden away
A genuine 16 century pub. Wow! Could stay here just for the collection of tankards in the bar area. The room was tiny. Made tinier by the standard issue double bed. Hardly any space to move. The en suite was well meaning, new and gleaming and the shower was quite not commando force, but decent. But anyone with even a normal wingspan would struggle to have a shower without his wings clipped. Not a criticism but a comment. To be expected in a century old property. When I visited, it was unseasonably hot. Of course in 16th century they did not have aircon. The tiny window did nothing but invite cigarette smoke and noise. It was hot! But the girl who welcomed me was an absolute star. Upon informing them of my unusual heat intolerance, she sprang into action and fetched me one. Whatever can be said, you cannot fault this lot on hospitality. Breakfast is served from 8 am onwards. When I told them that I had to depart by 8 am, the landlady said she will come at 745 and make me toast and tea. She did. The couple had only managed the pub for 3 months but I can bet it is going to be many more 3 months. The food is lovely. So is the crowd. Seems each and everyone of the village's population was there and they really do not like cooking. Lovely people. The fish pie is fab. Would I go back! Yessss..,but only until it gets dark forever like it does in winter. There is no road that can accommodate more than 2 cycles riding abreast. The locals seem to know the roads and mighty into

Pretty and quiet location - fab stay
All the staff were really helpful, welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was great. The pub was very pretty in a delightful hamlet. The pub was patronised by lots of locals, meals in the restaraunt were tasty. Our room was in the thatched part of the building, it was small but comfortable and cosy with a very comfortable bed.
