Never Again
The area was down trodden. Construction just outside the hotel and at the entrance. Owners are quite rude and disrespectful. Onsite parking was no where to be found. Only information in English was in the room that side there was a 75 Euro charge for vomit in the sink or toilet. Even at reception there was no attempt at English. Had to park more than a few blocks away and track luggage back and forth. Breakfast was watered down coffee, a few rolls, three sandwich meats and two cheeses. This was after dealing with the rude owner over the room number. The room was small, nothing plugged in, a motion powered light in the bathroom that took forever to turn on and off, mold along the ceiling and top edge of the bathroom, ripped and pitted wallpaper, the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, had the worst night of sleep, and the list goes on. We were given a code for a front door that was never closed the whole time we were there. We were so uncomfortable with the room we took a video of the room immediately at check in so that we would have evidence of the rooms condition should an extra charge appear on our bill. This was greatly disappointing when you consider the 90 Euros paid for the room.

A good place to stay in Ghent
There is currently some renovation at the hotel, or I probably would have given it n even higher rating. I stayed in Europe for 1 month, and Parkhotel in Ghent was the nicest place that I stayed. I had a cool room with window overlooking a canal.

Good value for money
Good value for money. Clean and the coffee/tea machine in the comfort room was nice. Only downside is that the parking is 300 meters away!

Good little family run hotel
A warm welcome and good continental breakfast that set me up for the day. I arrived on Sunday when reception closes at 2pm, so just made it in time. My room was on the ground floor of the accommodation annexe, which meant that I needed to close the window at night, as other guests could be heard going past and down the steps outside, sometimes with their luggage; it was fine with the window closed. Fresh towels were supplied daily. The associated restaurant had a reasonably priced lunch menu, which was of a good quality, so worth considering. The location is a little out of the historic centre, but not too far once you get your bearings, and there are buses and trams a few minutes walk away. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Parkhotel and it was great to be in a family run hotel rather than a corporate chain.
