for a hotel that is charging about 400 euro per day, they should at least have a swimming pool and fitness center. There were nicking and diming the customer during breakfast, charging an extra 10 euro for an omelette, when breakfast was already paid for as part of the package. I was generally disappointed but the staffs were very respectful. The room was extremely cold as it was heated by radiators that were not working well. The room was extremely small as the hotel was challenged for space. I will not recommend it to somebody else

Excellent stay at Canal House
STAY HERE!!! We only had 24 hours in AMS but the Canal House helped us make the most out of our limited time. They arranged an airport pick up - that I will admit was a bit pricey - but worth every penny. The driver was communicative pre pick-up and helped us with baggage and made leaving the airport seamless. Check-in to the hotel was just as easy. We were lucky to get upgraded and our room was ready early so we got to our room immediately. The rooms are decorated beautifully and have a sexy appeal to them. During check-in, we were given a map of the city and some recommendations of what to go see/do. Using that map helped us really experience the city. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast but it smelled and looked wonderful. We did enjoy some drinks at the bar in the evening that was a nice break from the hustle/bustle of the city. I wish I remembered the name of the gentlemen that checked us in (blame it on being the last day of a 2-week trip), he deserves all the praise in the world for his customer service. When we come back to AMS, there is no question that we will stay at Canal House.

Amsterdam Gem
This is a funky, small boutique hotel in the heart of the canal area. Excellent staff in a cozy environment. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom petite but well designed with amazing bath products, and the breakfast - delicious. The hotel was in a great part of town. Easy to walk everywhere and super quiet at night. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Amongst other issues, the heating seems to be broken - which can happen for a few hours but seems tp be a permanent feature as they offer portable heaters and - as far as I could see - was not fixed during my 2 days stay
