Lazaat Hotel, Cottingham

Friendly and efficient service. Excellent room, will be my first choice when I am in the area.

Room was a little dusty could do with a spring clean around the sides etc but overall very nice stay

We were there to celebrate a friend's wedding. The room was good although the bed wasn't the most comfortable. The worst thing was finding out some guests had paid much less for their stay than I had and had much nicer rooms. Quite frustrating.

Arrived to check in and told room cancelled! However, they had space so no problem in giving me a room. Staff went to “turn the heating on” unfortunately it was a cold night and too little too late as the space didn’t really warm up. Whilst at reception another lady had asked for an extra duvet because she was cold but was told they had no spares!! Dined in restaurant for supper and it was ok, my meal was a little odd mushroom ricotta pasta with tomato sauce and garlic bread came as pasta with what appeared to condensed tomato soup over it and two pieces of microwaved flat bread. On the other hand my colleague had a lovely steak and caramelised onion ciabatta. We didn’t have breakfast but my colleague had stayed the previous day, arrived in the evening, the restaurant was closed and had been told that it would not be open for breakfast either because too few guests to open the kitchen. She was told that she could order room service that would incur an extra £4 tray charge which seemed a little unfair. This hotel is a little off the beaten track so no safe option to go elsewhere unless driving. Overall a clean, nice looking hotel but needs a few tweaks to ensure comfort.

A Christmas celebration dinner dance. Despite there being over 160 people the food was excellent. The room was in the main hotel building and for £40 for the night it was cheaper than a taxi there and back. It was very comfortable, with a huge bed and great facilities.
