Non-boutique posing as boutique
This hotel is adorable and feels like a singular boutique hotel and not a Hyatt. I'm so glad we decided to stay here. The room was a decent size for a King Bed in NYC and the shower was actually good. Everyone we encountered was friendly and very helpful and I don't have anything bad to say about this hotel! You will have to walk for a soda or snack but it's extremely close and not a big deal at all.

Hotel was great and location was great. Night we left there was a shooting in front of hotel. We never felt unsafe and hotel had nothing to do with it, but just a reminder you are in New York City. Don't let your guard down.

My television didn't work so someone from the front desk came up to fix it. Next morning as I am in the bathroom the phone is ringing to let me know someone is there to fix it. It was fixed. Then service did not refill my coffee and tea. This was after I had to request for my room to be serviced at 2pm. Then there was a shooting about 20 feet from the hotel entrance and when I went out I was greeted by a cop who told me "You can't walk here unescorted, there was a shooting". The shooting was 20 feet from the hotel and they didn't even bother to tell the guests. There was no one in the lobby, not even a note on the front door. It seemed they had no concern for the safety of the guests. Lastly, I have a dog who got dirt on the duvet cover. After they finally serviced my romm I said "Great, they changed the duvet". Nope, I went to get into bed and the housekeeper had just flipped the duvet over. Called downstairs 2x to finally get a new duvet and not only did it take a half hour, the woman at the front desk didn't bother to listen and they stripped my whole bed. I ended up helping as it was after midnight and I just wanted to go to sleep.
