Disappointing.
I forgot to mention that access ro our "room" (a converted studio apartment) was outside the "hotel" at a nondescript door in an unlit alley. Not appropriate for a holiday w my teenage son or myself, as a mom. Supposedly the place was under renovation, but there was no work, nor workers, to be seen, except in the general neighborhood. Sorely lacking for a holiday environment.

Good job with the professional photos on the page
I'm truly surprised that this hotel was able to score a 3.8 on hotels.com where usually reviews and grades are quite reliable and I consider 3.8 to be a somewhat high score for what I found when I got there. First let me say that the rooms seem to be recently and reasonably well renovated, but that's about all the good things I can say. The location is sketchy to say the least. Yes, you can walk to downtown, but this building is right on the edge of what stops being downtown and starts being a depressed area slowly trying to recover, but still not there. We arrived on Friday evening and it's a hard-party area with super edgy people flooding the streets and VERY LOUD noise all around. The hotel is on top of one (or was it two?) sxx shops with bright red signs. There is no elevator and you start with a few steps up, followed by a loooong flight of stairs to get to the front desk. If you are lucky, like us, you get a room on the second (top) floor of an adjacent building, so you have to go down a short flight of stairs and then two floors up. Carrying your luggage. The room was spacious and comfortable, but with poor quality furniture. The A/C installation was a cheap DIY project with a wood board that let a lot of cold and noise in. And there was plenty of both. Breakfast is OK if free. My hotels.com reservation did include breakfast which the hotel didn't want to honor for some reason. I only got breakfast one of the two days we stayed there. Probably would not stay here again

Convinient and Clean Hotel
We were in Montreal just for one night. This was a nice place to stay. Had noticed some people refer to the adult store next to the entrance. The adult store is so inconspicuous and has no bearing on the residents stay in any way whatsoever. I agree with others about carrying luggage up the stairs without an elevator was painful. Luckily I had to carry my luggage only one flight. I can only imagine the plight for those staying on higher floors. nothing to write home about breakfast. Parking is 1 block away, but that is not bad considering that you are in the center of town. I was able to park in front of the hotel to unload my luggage and leave it with my wife on the sidewalk and then turn around the hotel to park in the basement of des Jardin complex. Overall nice place to stay. great location. good price. If you are young or don't mind the trek up the stairs or the walk to the parking garage; you have found yourself a good place to stay in the center of old Montreal. Did I forget to say there are lots of nice eating houses nearby to suit all budgets?
