Basic rest stop
Simple basic hotel co-located with motorway service stop. Showers worked, and there's a mixer faucet!

Misleading website
The website had said there was a restaurant on-site, which we assumed to be in the hotel. The "restaurant" turned out to be the catering at the motorway services, i.e. McDonalds, Costa Coffee and another generic outlet with not much choice. We would have needed to go off-site to the nearest village pub for a proper meal.

On the night we stayed the adjoining Services had decided to close the road in so that resurfacing work could take place overnight. We had to be escorted down the wrong way road to get to the hotel. Once at the hotel found the room to be OK but then noticed the pillow still had the impression of someone's head on it and quickly realised that the room had not been cleaned - beds not changed, bathroom dirty and bins full. Immediately left room and asked for another, only to find no other rooms available except the executive room (no real difference but slightly bigger and clean). This we took as was difficult to get off the site and too late to find another hotel, however the room was at the end of the hotel where the road works being carried out and so sound of machines digging up the road and resurfacing through the night.

One night stay was enough.
Staff friendly and helpful. Room size good, unfortunately the bathroom facilities were very tired. The bath and shower could not regulate the temperature so it was constantly hot water (to hot for children) and the toilet seat would detach itself from the hinges every time you touched it (never a nice job to put together in your own home, let alone in a bathroom used by strangers). The pillow cases for the fold out bed were not clean or stained. I understand that it is a budget hotel but with little work it could be a comfortable place to stay. The sooner they refurbish the hotel the better.
