Bodhi Serene Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai

My stay at this hotel was far from being serene. What started as a great first impression turned into a highly aggravating and unsatisfying stay at this location. The AC unit in the bedroom was showing its age with its loud compressor loudly humming all night in a fruitless effort to cool down the space. Maintenance did not address this issue after my requests over my two-night stay. Lastly at check out I was told the small towels I had used were soiled beyond use; they supposedly could not be cleaned. I had not used these towels anywhere beyond the usual intent. The hotel asked me to compensate them 7000 Thai Baht, equivalent to about $266 US Dollars for three small towels. After my refusal to pay such an exorbitant amount of money, I was asked to sign a form stating the items were supposedly missing from the room, which I also refused as they were in possession of the items, and nothing was missing from the room. I was extremely disappointed with the way this situation was handled by the staff, alongside the lack of maintain to the room AC. It is sad a place with such a beautiful setting and potential would treat guests in this fashion.

lovely villa with very attentive staff. the concierge,Tip, was a joy to talk with and helped us obtain a reasonable taxi as well as inform of of all activities in the area. Housekeeping was attentive and available through the day. The food was good with a good selection and great hours. Would differently stay here again.

This is a place Ill highly recommend to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. Gorgeous boutique hotel, two beautiful pools, incredible staff always ready to help (including for booking amazing tours around Chiang Mai), high quality breakfast, great restaurant service by the main pool etc. The room is super clean and beautifully designed. They had pick up service at airport and facilitated a cab on the way back to the airport. Location is great, within the old city. Couldn't recommend it more!!!!

Good location, but too expensive for the quality of stay. The hotel was in the old city. But the pool and the room have nothing special. And price was high for New years holidays.

Our stay was outstanding! The staff was welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. The room was clean. Our hair dryer didn't work and they were very responsive, giving us a new one that worked perfectly. The hotel grounds are really peaceful - I loved relaxing at the pool, in the common areas and on our patio. The breakfast was also a great addition. Lastly, the hotel is located in a very central location to things to see/do, places to eat, etc. Definitely recommend!
