Great value, good location
If you are looking for a traditional hotel, stop and go somewhere else. The only indication from the street that this is a hotel is a small sign that says Maribelle. Once you are inside the heavy iron door (just ring the buzzer) and a few more doors, a new world opens. Our room was on the 5th floor, which requires using an aging and noisy elevator and going through another iron. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. The AC was much appreciated in late July. Breakfast was good quality and plenty. The staff was helpful, especially when we needed help to print out some tickets to the Ermitage. Once the receptionist event smiled! (Which is almost unprecedented in Russia). We were able to leave our luggage after checking out so we did not have to carry them the whole day we spent at St. Petersburg.

Down the street from Nevsky Prospect!
We were looking for a good place to stay during our visit to St. Petersburg and this was just what we needed. A block from Nevsky Prospect, clean room, reasonable breakfast and a nice front desk staff. They helped with getting us a taxi. We had a short walk to the Hermitage and Church of Spilt Blood. We would book a room here again the next time we go to Russia. Nothing fancy but we were not looking to tour the hotel. We were here to tour the city.

One day in St Petersburg
Great location and friendly, helpful staff. A little difficult to find and the building was quite shabby but the hotel corridors and rooms were modern, clean and well equipped. A great value for money location for a quick stop in St Petersburg

Great little hotel in top location
Fantastic location (behind Kadansky Cathedral, some 300m from Nevsky prospect), lovely little hotel, great service. Don’t expect a conventional looking hotel. You think you are at the wrong address when you see a large metal door, but go through the large, old foyer, up a few steps, and through another metal door and you will find the unassuming reception desk. The receptionists spoke good enough English to meet all our needs and were very kind and helpful. Continental breakfast was well stocked and the coffee was superb. Our 5th floor room, after a cranky lift, another old foyer (sometimes smelt of tobacco from private apartments ) and another metal door, felt like 3 stars. It was quite comfortable and very clean. Towels were changed daily. TV had forty odd channels but none in English (I guess the same in other hotels). I would stay there again and highly recommend it if you want comfort, good service, a quiet street and a top location

Great location
Hotel is basic and from the outside looks a bit suspect. Make sure you have good directions, as there is no big sign for it. It's really a converted house, with a basic lift and dodgy bannister railings + basic breakfast. Having said all that, however, the good points are that our bedroom was very comforatble, with separate TV/living room area. Location is great, being very near The Hermitage" + "Church of the Spilt Blood" among others.
