Centrally located
The hotel is centrally located which makes for easy access to everything. The rooms are what I would consider average in terms of comfort, amenities, etc.

Good place for the price
The room was clean and tidy. The kitchenette is a real bonus. The staff was not available for check in when we arrived but they left keys at the front desk. It does not have the luxuries of a hotel, but was just fine for my needs.

Basic place to stay in Santiago
Pros - good location, city center, walkable area, extremely close to metro - great price - very spacious - free wifi - fully equiped kitchen in apartment - kind and efficient front door security Cons - not clean (not even on the first day), old and dirty bedsheets - no daily cleaning service or towel renewal - no central heating, only a small but efficient electric heater (it was enough for the fall but it may not be for colder days and it doesnt look like they have ac for the summer - awful check-in times: 9:30-5:30 (but you can check in a couple of days after arrival) - old, small, and slow elevators

Not a great place to stay
While my experience with the Apart Center Santiago was made even worse (than it otherwise might have been) by the fact that there was no functioning internet connection in the room (or any of the other rooms they showed me), I wouldn't recommend this apart hotel, nor would I stay there again. Unless you can sleep with heavy street/traffic noise you won't get much of a rest. Out of the three lifts in the building two almost never worked, and the remaining one often took more than 5 minutes to arrive (meaning I usually climbed the seven floors up and down). The location is ok - the city centre is not the best or most pleasant area, but it's where the historic buildings are located, so quite convenient for a tourist. The hotel itself is just a minute walk from the metro station of Santa Lucia. The staff tried to be somewhat helpful but were sorely lacking in the efficiency department... finally after three days without an internet connection (and many hours wasted sitting in my room waiting for someone to come to fix it, as promised) I was transferred to a room with a wifi signal.

Good deal, if you are out and about
Overall, it was fine for the price. The room was small, but that isn't an issue when traveling on your own unless you spend much of your time in the room. It is VERY close to the metro and Cerro St. Lucia, and within walking distance to a number of other sights in the city center. The only real issue I had was that the WiFi never worked in the room during my one night stay. This typically wouldn't be a big deal, but I did need it to make plans for the rest of my trip. I ended up using it in the office the following morning. Also, their credit card machine was down, which meant I had to use cash. The staff were friendly and helpful...the only confusing thing is that this is an aparthotel (common here, apparently), which means that most rooms are apartments. The office is in 703, and you have to get let up there by the front desk. I can imagine that can be difficult with language barriers or with a new person at the desk. I'm still midway through my trip and am considering staying there again on my way back through Santiago.
