We love it here and have stayed many times. Love the remodel. Hate the pillows. We jokingly called them "bags of rocks ".

Hotel Sunroute Kawasaki
This review is for the second time we stayed at this hotel. After our first stay, we liked it so much we cancelled reservations at another hotel and stayed here again upon our return from Kyoto. This second time, we had the same type of room, but the room was a little bigger. The bed was just as comfortable, the room was just as quiet, and everything was just as clean as the first time we stayed. The consistency in service is important. You can rely on Hotel Sunroute Kawasaki to provide excellent accomodation each time you stay.

This is a wonderful hotel
This hotel is great! The staff worked hard to ensure our needs were met and that we were comfortable. They had an English speaker available each time we approached the counter. The rates are very reasonable. The sheets and towels were clean. They provide all the expected toiletries, plus razors, bath sponges, and hair brushes. They also provide slippers and robes in each room. The room was very neat. The rooms are smaller than US hotel rooms, but still comfortable and easy to move around. The hotel is very quiet; I didn't hear any noise from any neighboring rooms the whole time I was there. The free wifi was very fast. The washers didn't work as well as I would have liked; even adding extra coins did not give enough time or heat to completely dry our items. There are vending machines that dispense both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, which is very cool. The location is very convenient and central. It's about a 15-20 minute taxi ride from Haneda airport, and just a couple of blocks (10 min walk with luggage) from the Kawasaki train station. There are lots of restaurants and stores in short walking distance. We liked it so much we stayed there twice, and will stay there again if we ever get back to Kawasaki.

Great for Traveling, Quiet Area
Hotel Sunroute Kawasaki is part of the Hotel Sunroute chain in Kawasaki, southwest of Tokyo (it's part of the greater Tokyo metropolitan area, and as far as travelers are concerned, it's in Tokyo). The hotel is within a very short walk of the local train station (there are actually two, one for the JR lines and one for the Keikyu lines). The proximity to the station coupled with the general quietness of the surrounding area made it ideal for a less hectic Tokyo visit. The hotel is about 45 minutes and 390 yen (at the current exchange rate, about 3.50 USD) from downtown Tokyo by train (there are even direct trains to some stations, like Akihabara). The only real downside to location is that there is little to do in the immediate area (though I would recommend checking out Kaiju Sakaba, a nice Kaiju/Ultraman themed izakaya nearby, and Dr.moshpit, a deceivingly named upscale whiskey/cocktail bar that uses their downstairs neighbor, Maroyaka Waltz winehouse, as a waiting room). While we spoke Japanese when checking in, we later learned that at least some of the staff speak English. The hotel also has a nice "Eco-cleaning" option, that allows you to have just the trash removed from the room when cleaning.
