Very good hotel in a prime location
The hotel room was very small, but it didn't really matter. It had a nice view of the area. Also it was very close to Taipei 101 and to a huge shopping mall area. They did check me in as the wrong person when I arrived, and charged my card even though I had already paid. Breakfast was okay, but it was low on food when I got up around 9. Both minor issues that were far surpassed by the comfy bed, and good location.

Near Taipei 101
If you want to be near Taipei 101, this is a great place. Nice full windows provide fabulous views. My friend's looked out on 101; mine gave a lovely view of the city with mountains in the background. The building is rather an odd shape though, creating many triangular rooms that don't allow for very usable foot traffic. My husband and I were tripping over each other to get from one side of the room to the other. If it were a quick trip with a little less luggage than we had, the space might have been fine. The shower pressure was great. The service was all right, a bit neurotic. The day we left they reminded us three times that check out was at noon, which made us really feel clearly that they couldn't wait for us to leave. Breakfast goes until 10, which means they stop stocking around 9:30. Don't come late. The area isn't my style, obviously not the hotel's fault. I just didn't think there was a lot to do besides 101. It's a fine hotel.

STAY ELSEWHERE! bad customer service, filthy hotel
Worst Hotel I have ever stayed at, and I travel all the time. I almost always leave good reviews, but definitely not this time. The room is a disgusting cesspool of disease, needs a new paint job as walls are scratched, damaged, covered in dirt, air conditioning vents are completely filthy, carpets in hallways are stained and gross. The Hotel service is the worst part about the hotel. Early check-in is not allowed, even though they had empty rooms and were not busy. 5 people standing behind the front desk not doing any work and none of them could be bothered to get my luggage out of luggage storage or help me check-in. Luggage storage isn't safe, it's actually in the common breakfast room where anybody could steal your stuff. Front desk provides no advice, are very rude, dismissive, and annoyed if you ask them anything in English. Wifi is weak. Several blocks from any metro station, and walking in Taiwan heat is not pleasant. Loved the country, but not this hotel. Stay anywhere, but here. The only rude people I met in Taiwan were in this hotel.

Seattle to Taipei 101 area, and nice stay
It's a great hotel at an amazing price in an awesome part of Taipei. I travel a lot, and this place was totally worth it. The breakfast was great. Awesome coffee via an espresso machine that offered something for everyone, except the syrups, but I could care less; FYI Taiwanese coffee is awesome, and as good or better than the shops I snobbishly frequent in Seattle. The breakfast food was very good even for being a "free hotel breakfast", wherein the Western fare was more than adequate and good, and the Asian fare was good, according to my Taiwanese colleague; you could feel that the staff totally took pride in it. The views from the room are big-city fun. My colleague had a view of Taipei 101, but I think I got the more interesting view since it included an awesome intersection that fully displayed the daily "Taipei Scooter Grand Prix"! The only downside was the front desk service. A notable example of several, I had difficulty getting proper advice or help on a currency exchange issue, in that it was more of a "shrugged shoulder response" than anything useful. Lesson learned; skip the hotel and big-American bank next door for currency exchange and go to a local back in the neighborhood (just down the street, wherein you're moving in the same direction/towards the awesome Korean restaurant that's across the street). That being said, I would totally stay hear again!
