Nice Pub!
Room recently remodeled. Very nice pub in small village. Close to Thames where it is still very small. Very good service.

Excellent food, great selection of beer, village had everything you need but not too big, easy access to village, Thames footpath for hiking.

Worst nights sleep
Good room and pub but the worst sleep we've had in a hotel after the lights went a bright green glow from a emergency light in the room lit the entire room then at 5 to 5 in the morning they started moving beer kegs outside our window but food was great

Great pub - so,so accommodation
As far as the accommodation goes it’s a little difficult to judge – the room whilst clean is a little dated (I’m not talking about the old furniture, which to me is fine), it was the decor and tiled floors and bathroom. It had all I needed – desk, iron, tea, coffee, etc. What makes the difference to your stay is the Pub and restaurant, had a great meal (beer) and breakfast. For an overnight I would go back.

Ideal for pleasure, not for business.
I arrived at the Red Lion a little prior to my check in time, but as my room was ready the helpful chap behind the bar showed me where id be staying for the night and left me to it. I was in room 1, a converted outhouse I'd imagine with low ceilings and tiled floors and a distinct a couple of small windows left the room feeling quite dark irrespective of time of day. The bathroom window overlooked the beer garden and with no frosted glass be sure to close the curtains fully before using the facilities! If you're over 5'7 (I'm 6'3) be careful of the low ceilings when taking a shower, I took a lump out of my head on one of the ceiling beams. Everyone was friendly enough, so if you were planning to stay here with a view to having a pub meal and enjoying some local ale and needed somewhere close to stagger back to of an evening.. this would be perfect. Just probably not great for business trips!
