The Old Homeplace
Love to stay at this old Hotel. Reminds me of the house I grew up in back in the 50's & 60's.Great food in the restaurant too.

Old house; old accomodations.
The place was quaint but very old. Our meal at the restaurant was good, but the comfort of the room was lacking; although, the value of the stay for the cost was okay.

Small family wedding
My sister had a small wedding at the hotel and all attendees stayed in the hotel. It was a very nice venue for the size party we had and were able to book the perfect size room for our party of 12. The food was very reasonable and the staff were extremely nice. The hotel is over 100 years old and the rooms are not perfect (smallish, some noisy fans, etc, bathrooms could be upgraded) but I would readily recommend the Strasburg hotel and would stay there again without hesitation.

Nice building. Mediocre service. Decent stay.
The hotel is in a gorgeous old building in a quaint & quiet town at the north end of Shenandoah Valley. The rooms are a good size & very clean. If you are a fan of frilly gold frames, doilies, and Victorian-era-lookalike doodads, you will love the decor. (We found it amusingly tacky but I'm not a grandmother so maybe not the target audience.) The bartender who served us at dinner was awesome, great service. Everyone else looked miserable & seemed happy to let you know. You had to interrupt their phone conversations to get service; they really didn't like their jobs, and squabbled with each other in front of us. We asked one woman if there were restaurants in town, and she said "Two, but WE have a restaurant here". Turns out there were 4 restaurants in town, plus a handful of fast food joints. As for the restaurant/bar: I had the shrimp on cheese grits & it was EXCELLENT. My wife ordered a burger which was overcooked & came with limp fries. As stated before, service/decor in the bar was much better than the dining room. Wifi was not good, but they warned us about that at check-in. I'd stay here again if I needed to be in Strasburg, but there are many more charming towns along the 11 Highway in Shenandoah which I'd choose first.
