Breif stay over in Basel
The room was very nice. The furniture was a little sparse and ther was an odd window between the bathroom and bedroom. If your partner was sleeping and you were up early, the light in the bathroom cast on to the bed. The window needs a blind.

Basel Hotel near Docks for starting our Cruise
We had the most helpful desk clerk ever! Quentin was adorable and so helpful! He gave us maps and suggestions and made us feel much better about our activities. This was our last night "on our own" in Europe before getting on the Viking river boat cruise. The location was fairly near the docks, thus the reason I chose the hotel. Our room was fine, and the breakfast was as expected. The only inconvenience was having to use a parking garage down the street for our car. Friday night all the local gas stations were closed, so we were unable to gas up our rental car until Sat. morning prior to returning it. All in all not a big deal, but added to the confusion.

Good hotel
Comfortable and clean, but average for a designer hotel. (which means it is excellent when compared to a standard hotel.) Anyways, I really enjoyed my stay and my room, and I will definitely be staying there again.

Convenient Hotel for before/after river cruises.
Located within an easy 10 minute walk of the major river cruise lines and an easy 10 minute walk to the shopping and eating in the old Town area (Marktplatz). Quiet location near the university and one short block off of the Rhine River. Great expanded continental breakfast, too!

Watch out for the breakfast charge!
Our stay was fine. We were shocked at the end of the trip when we had a coffee in the lobby that we had to pay $24 per person. They considered that breakfast. Their breakfast looks like a continental breakfast with a container of yogurt and some cheese and meat. There were some rolls earlier but we missed those. Oh there was juice. We were not told that the coffee would cost $24 per person. You also can't get any ice for your room. The tacked on charges really ruined our stay here.
