Historic, beautiful B&B
Amazing- beautiful garden flowers. Delicious scrambled eggs with bacon or smoked salmon. Centrally located for a hike up Mt. Victoria for stunning views of Auckland and surrounding islands and bays. A few blocks from the ferry terminal for the 12-minute commuter ferry to Auckland. Convenient way to spend the day touring Auckland. In Auckland, walked along the wharf, rode the elevator up the Sky Tower, relaxed. It's a snack at Albert Park and caught a special "Maori Portraits" exhibit at the Auckland Art Gallery. Devonport has a cute neighborhood with shops and restaurants. Judy keeps a basket of fresh fruit and biscuits on the kitchen counter. We took a large kiwi. To our surprise upon peeling it, we found it was a golden-flesh juicy kiwi with a sweet honey taste. I bought some dried golden kiwi packages at the airport since we had only seen green kiwi at home.

The property was beautiful.. the problem was the owner who was very unfriendly/unprofessional.. because of her, i would not recommend anyone to stay there. unfortunately she left us feeling unhappy / unsatisfied.

Feeling Right at Home in Devonport
We stayed at Peace and Plenty on our last day in New Zealand. We arrived late at night and though Judy, our proprietor was exhausted, she welcomed us to her lovely home. Right from the start we were amazed at the décor of "Our Windsor Room." The stained glass, chandelier and port and sherry in crystal decanters on the mantel added to its old world charm. The smell of bacon coming from her bright and airy kitchen woke us gently. We joined others in the dining room for a wonderful home cooked breakfast - everything from muesli to Belgium waffles and eggs with bacon. We enjoyed sharing stories with Judy and the other travelers. Afterwards we were allowed to stow our suitcases for a bit and enjoy the town of Devonport which is filled with shops and cafes. If you want to feel right at home, I would definitely recommend you stay at Peace and Plenty when you visit Auckland.

Great get-away
We stayed for only one night in order to watch the fireworks in Auckland for New Year's eve. All of our expectations were met and the Inn was the perfect place to stay. Right in town and walking distance to shopping and eateries and the beach front.

Relaxing Devonport Catch-up
Loved the location, handy parking, interesting people skills from the owner, felt like we were inconveniencing her by staying. Given the cost of the room this was a disappointing attitude. The catch up with my friend made the weekend a success.
