Great updates (but not every room)
This hotel has half of the rooms updated and half not updated. We were in a newly updated room. It was fantastic. The updates and cleanliness were second to none. Our friends were in the wing not updated. It was dated and needed a refreshing. It was clean, but they paid the same price as our updated room. If you stay here (and you should) make a point to ask and reserve an updated room. You won't be disappointed.

Next to Bannockburn
I booked late in the day. Its basically a motel in ok condition, and the front desk was very helpful and friendly. There's a pub in the lobby that was a good place to watch a football game, several neighborhood people in there watching also, decent food. Outskirts of town, not much around besides the Bannockburn/Robert the Bruce memorial site next door. I did see some very small ants in my room around where I'd left my toiletries bag on the desk -- after I washed off the bag in the bathroom I saw no more, so it is possible they came from elsewhere.

A Bit Dated But Nice
Good hotel within a short drive to Stirling Castle. A bit dated but the staff was friendly and the bar food and drink were good.
