clean and noisy hotel
The service and cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding. The decor was amazing and the gardens were well kept and gave the hotel a unique atmosphere. The breakfast was very good except for the bitter bad coffee. I have to say the beds were not comfortable, the pillows were horrible, and the soundproofing was non existent. Each night there were several car alarms going off and you could hear toilets flushing in the room next door as well as voices in the hall.

What a quaint hotel!
This hotel was very quaint. If you are expecting a typical hotel, this is not it. This is a large house that has converted into a hotel. My room was a triple - three twin beds with wooden ceiling beams. The bathroom was small - only a shower but the staff at the hotel was very friendly. There are no elevators and our room was on the second floor. Breakfast was simple and the server took your order daily (homemade Ecuadorian juices, cereal, fruit, eggs, toast, yogurt and granola.) The hotel provided free parking. The staff has to open the gates to let you park on their property. There is also no ceiling fans or air conditioning - just windows that open. At night the temperature dropped so the rooms were comfortable. Overall it Was a great stay for the amount of money per night. It was nearby restaurants and clubs.

Loud, but pretty
The hotel is pretty and the room we had was comfortable, but the walls were paper thin. We could literally hear people in the surrounding rooms and floors having conversations, walking around, coming and going. This made for a lot of noise in the mornings, especially when people were checking out of rooms.

If you need space, don't go here...
Pro: the service and the staff was very good. They were helpful and very accommodating. Cons: a lot. The room was small. We had a matrimonial room, and when I lay on either side, I could touch the wall with my hand. From the foot of the bed, there is another 5 or 6 feet to the wall. That is SMALL. We could barely move around in there. The bed was situated where we couldn't even open the window all the way, and when I moved the bed, it made the room even smaller. And when the window is open, you don't have any privacy - if you drop the blinds, it blocks airflow into the room. When you are in the bathroom and open the window, people in other floors can see into it. So while this hotel is quaint, it does NOT function well for space or privacy. In my opinion, the "quaintness" does not compensate for the discomfort or functionality as a vacation room. If you are alone, you should be fine. If not, I would not recommend it.
