Needs upgrades
Checkin was great and the lobby is a nice area. Hotel is under some facelifts on the outside but could use some in the rooms as well. The paint above the shower was ripping and bubbling, sink was making bubbling noises and water was coming up the drain filling the sink part way. They also need to have water for refill stations available since the water tastes bad.

Nice hotel with easy access to the airport.
I booked this for our last night in Edmonton before we flew out the following morning. The property is located about 9 miles north of Edmonton International Airport and has very easy access. Pros: Reasonably priced. Adequate and free self-parking. Breakfast included. Serving starts at 6 a.m. You may not be able to take advantage of this if you have a really early flight, though. There is a gas station within a kilometer of the property where you can fill up your rental car before returning. You may have to wait for a train to pass, though. There are some restaurants within walking distance, though we had already eaten dinner before arriving. Quiet at night, despite the rail line not far away. The trains don't blow their whistles here and I only vaguely noticed any noise from passing trains while awake. Staff seemed friendly. Convenient to Hwy 2 / Calgary Trail + airport. Cons: I didn't encounter anything that was a dissatisfier. If it matters to you, you are about 20 minutes from downtown Edmonton here. Depending on what you need regarding lodging, this is a good choice.

Convenient, Comfortable Stay
One-night stay in transit on a family summer trip. Convenient location for South Edmonton, just off of Highway 2. True to Hampton Inn brand (stayed at one in Calgary the night before). Reception staff were cheerful and helpful. Room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Bathtub (as opposed to just shower) was appreciated. Breakfast area was well laid out for customer flow. Having a waffle iron that cooks 4 small waffles instead of 1 large waffle allows users to share and reduces a bottleneck Calgary had. Biodegradable cutlery is more eco-sensitive than Calgary’s plastic. Parking is outdoors (not underground like Calgary), so some concern for our vehicle that night, but the hailstones were tiny, so no damage. It was then that we noticed a wet spot in the carpet by the air conditioner next to the window, which was not a concern for us that night (notified the hotel staff at checkout).

It’s still a good spot to stay in south Edmonton, but starting to slowly show its age a bit. Our bathroom had some mould around the shower in the bath, etc. but other than that everything was pretty decent.
