Comfortable Hotel close to art museums
Stayed with husband in early April - ideal time to come as not too hot. Hotel is situated overlooking a roundabout with a lovely fountain we had a rear room which was very quiet and peaceful. Room was tastefully decorated and had large shower, safe, hairdryer and coffee maker. Had complimentary free drink in hotel bar first night which was a nice touch. There is a quiet road at the back of the hotel which has lovely tapas bars and a few restaurants. It is not far to walk to Plaza de Santa Ana lovely square with lots of bars/restaurants. Would recommend a visit to Prada (free entry 6-8pm) and Thyssen Museum close to hotel. Also the main park in Madrid with boating lake is close to Hotel. We were lucky to see the changing of the guard at the Royal Palace first Wednesday of the month at noon - lovely horses on parade lasts an hour and quiet spectacular. Palace also worth a visit (free Thursday evening). There is an Egyptian temple and gardens not far from palace. Madrid not a large city so easy to walk around.

We were expecting better
We got to the hotel early around 11:30 and were given a room rather quickly, which we appreciated after a long flight. However, the room was right next to the service stairs and was very noisy and with two small beds. We had reserved a double bed. We requested another room and the next day we were moved. However the whole situation could have been avoided. On the day that we were leaving the Madrid Marathon was going to take place and we asked the hotel people about the street closings. They gave us wrong information which caused us to get up very early and go to the train station over two hours ahead of time. They should have been better informed. Overall, this is not a 5 star hotel as it os rated.

Don't make a mistake in booking dates
This hotel was booked for a business trip by my office through I needed one night and unfortunately my office made a mistake with the dates and booked three nights. The mistake was realized immediately and we contacted the hotel and CheapTickets to fix this. The hotel told us the fee is non-refundable and I would be billed for all three nights. CheapTickets looked into it for two days and concluded nothing could be done. I even tried to work with the hotel when I arrived, and they said they could do nothing as it was booked on line. My credit card was charged for two nights, over $500 USD that were never used. I am still trying to rectify this situation, but I am not hopeful. So be very careful if you book online that the dates are correct, because when you hit send, you pay.

Mixed feelings about this hotel
The hotel had a great location, with Museum Paseo del Prado across the street, the tour bus just right outside, many bars and restaurants and the nicest and most important hotels were right next to it. The hotel staff were overall very nice and professional, and the lobby was beautiful and luxurious. Now the things we didn't like: the room had carpet which I find very unsanitary for a hotel room, the shower door wasn't working properly, so every time we would take a shower the entire bathroom would flood, and also there was a light smell of cigarette. The first morning we woke up at 8:30am with room service opening the door on us, it was very uncomfortable and interrupted our sleep. I told the hotel manager and they sent an apology letter with a few candies to the room. Overall, I would give it a 7 out of 10, and would recommend the hotel to do some room renovations.

Nice hotel in from of the Museo Del Prado!
Since the moment we got to the hotel was great, I asked for parking and they direct me to the one that belongs to the hotel, about $30 dollars at day. Boutique hotel, small room but confortables. Breakfast option of buffet or a la carta, and as I wasn't to hungry decided not to do buffet and go for Carta, not good as I was in dining in a meeting for about 3 hours and I wasn't able to eat more. Nothing to do with the hotel it was our choice. In the bar I was able to continue our meeting and I asked the bartender to open a Cava I had in my room, with not problem he asked me to bring it down. Overall this hotel fulfill my last two days of my vacations and work full of happiness. The staff is so great.
