  • Excellent location. Nicely decorated hotel.
  • Many stairs & poorly marked rooms made even finding our room a chore. No AC, so had to…

A Gem in Old King's Lynn
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Duke's. It was our second stay. We so enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel and our room was excellent. The locale of the hotel is centred in King's Lynn historic Tuesday Market square. I have known the Duke's Head since childhood (60 years) and it has remained a gem of a hotel.

Historic and well located
Historic hotel in King's Lynn, and with that comes smaller rooms, but excellent location. Some of the upper rooms are tough with much luggage, but again, it was built a couple centuries ago...staircase is priceless, though!

Hotel is nice, customer service not so much...
The statement about free parking is misleading. It should not be listed under included amenities. You get the free parking only if there are no events in the hotel (e.g. weddings or banquets), or you are checking in early in the day or it's a blue moon. Even after I showed my reservation which states that the free parking is included, they were not helpful. Not a good customer service at all! As a result I parked in front of the hotel in the town's parking lot and requested to be reimbursed for the parking fee. Eventually, they did reimburse me.

Comfortable but nothing glamorous
We stayed at The Dukes Head as a base for a trip to an art exhibition in Norfolk. The hotel was clean and reasonably well equipped. Our room was small and overlooked a big building with lots of air conditioner units (or some such things) that created a weird white noise throughout our stay. We met another guest who was also sleeping on the same side of the building and she also commented on the noise saying that her inner city london flat was quieter. The hotel is in walking distance from the town centre where there are lots of shops and pubs etc. Walking distance for public transport. The staff were friendly albeit a little scatter brained. The hotel was good for the purpose of our stay...but certainly not the romance capital of England! ;)

Heart of King's Lynn
We had a single overnight stay, in a lovely room, would have been happy to stay longer, and would certainly go back when the chance arises.Fantastic noise from the seagulls in the morning (you'd have to like the noise to appreciate it, otherwise the racket would be a drawback!).
