Do NOT book this bug-ridden hotel. My girlfriend and I booked this hotel in need of last minute accommodations in the Hyde Park/Paddington area, and this was the cheapest option. I wish we had paid twice the money elsewhere. The whole process was riddled with problems: 1) The service was rude and unhelpful. 2) Upon arrival at the hotel, due to some unnamed problem with the rooms, we were whisked away down the street to another one of the manager's (Tony's) properties, called Tony's House. We were assured this was an upgrade, which left us wondering what the original accommodation would have been like. 3) The hotel was dingy, messy, and unkempt. The room was even worse (and I am not the type to complain about inexpensive questionable accommodations). We opted not to shower and slept in our clothes to avoid contact with the bed, sheets, etc. BUT despite our best attempts: 4) The next day the typical red swelling of bed bug bites began appearing on both of our faces (still swollen and itching as I write this review). Do not make the same mistake as us and stay far away from this hotel (or any other questionable establishments run by Tony). 5) And to top it all off, the breakfast that was included (and gets delivered to your room) never arrived. Given the poor quality of everything else, this may have been the only blessing in disguise. The location is convenient but it is certainly NOT worth your troubles.

Expensive Hostel
I was NOT at all impressed by this "hotel". For four star rates a night I would have expected more than a glorified hostel. Aside from the ensuite bathroom (which needed a good cleaning). This is a four story walk up (5 really), no lift which was tricky with substantial luggage in stuffy and tiny stairwells. I would have loved to have just left to go elsewhere but I was informed that I would still be charged the full amount if I left. Breakfast included consisted of stale rolls, cookies, a tetra pack orange juice, and was left on the less than appealing floor outside the room, with nothing fresh. Seeing as one of us could not eat wheat it meant we had to find a suitable breakfast elsewhere. When we first arrived the front door was locked... The attendant arrived about 10 minutes later, thankfully another woman was waiting and told us he was coming soon after she had called (lucky her to have a local cell phone). Redeeming quality... There was a kettle and tea in the room...which I only used after sterilizing the cups with boiling water. Yuck. Don't do it.
