The location was excellent near the town centre and there was good parking available. Generous tea bags coffee etc and the bed was comfortable and the shower worked well.for a single traveller who simply wanted a warm room hot shower and comfy bed it ticked all boxes.i wish they were a bit more flexible over breakfast times and also checkout times but I suspect this is family run so they don't have a lot of leeway.i would be happy to stay there again

Nice, but could be better.
Lovely old hotel. Bathrooms in urgent need of upgrading. Good position for town. Very good breakfast. Carefull, book in time 4 pm, not before, unless extra charge. TV reception not good.

Disappointing overall.
We have stayed in Banbury many times over recent years and this has to be the least favourable accommodation. Little things that added up to a poor overall review. For example, the double room was exceptionally small; my husband and I needing to strategically manoeuvre around each other to get to the even smaller en suite. Mouldy grouting in the shower, wallpaper was pealing in places, ventilation turned off at isolator. Furniture was shabby but not chic, no provision to decant clothing other than a 6 hanger capacity open-faced tall 'box', three small complimentary toiletries between us for our two night stay, no hand washing soap and one packet of biscuits? Breakfast was OK but finding a pot of jam with a 'total' covering of mould did lessen my appetite somewhat. Staff were helpful, bed was comfortable but overall we have experienced better for less elsewhere. This may not be a hotel but you are being charged hotel prices. We will not be returning.
