Meredith House, Swansea
Very Good8.0
5 star breakfast
The breakfast is amazing! Quite the feast, so plan ahead. When checking in, they do have a space for food allergies on their form. I was too busy talking to Noel and missed that, but they did work with me the next morning and told me what I could and couldn't eat. The hotel is in an old and funky historic building, but it was comfortable and our room was huge.

Wonderful colonial setting
The hotel is a lovely colonial building. Very clean and excellent service with lovely touches like home made muffins on arrival. Breakfast is absolutely delicious with various home made breads etc. and a superb hot breakfast cooked to ordered. Each room is individually styled. A must whilst staying in the Swansea area.

The room was perfect and clean, my girl loved the garden outside the room. We were impressed by the amenities provided, they were so complete better than most hotels that we had stayed. The breakfast was amazing, we loved every bit of it. Upon check-in, the host gave us a plate of muffins for afternoon tea, really appreciate the kind gesture.

Neal is the host with the most, he gave us a true northern (English) welcoming and was so accommodating, together with his Australian partner. From the welcome muffins on arrival to the tips for the local area and our travel plans, it felt like he was welcoming us into his home. Then for the breakfast, wow, what can I say. Probably the best breakfast I’ve had anywhere in any hotel and I travel a lot. The huge selection of fresh fruit, yogurt, fruit juices and wonderfully cooked breakfast, even inviting us to take the individually freshly made pastries with us for later. You couldn’t ask for more. What made this even more special was all the little things that Neal went out his way for - bringing HP sauce to the table for the cooked breakfast (because nothing else compares) and bringing us a bag of Yorkshire tea to take on the rest of our travels. What a gent. Do not think twice about booking this place, nothing will compare.
